Well, this was back before the great MM nerf of '06. You see, back in those days we could raise many, many minions. But then you young'uns decided that that wasn't fair, so's you nerfed 'em. But anyways, I had a MASSIVE army going. Bigger than I'd ever had. I was doing FoW and I managed to keep all the minions alive through some bizarre twist of fate. I had like 60... it was glorious... but then I lagged out. I get online 2 seconds later and I get 7 rangers screaming at me that the minions killed all the ghosts. It was so funny that I nearly cried...

I was playing Urgoz's Warren last night and after about 5 hours, we killed him. I had Urgoz's Longbow drop for me , I run to pick it up and I froze about 5 feet away from it. Sure enough, err=7. That pissed me off

Merchant-selling lag spiked both bortak's items (when they were expensive), my fleshweaver, and a friend's perfect curses staff ... needless to say my friend was obviously pissed, and I spent a few weeks looking for another one just like it.
... since then if I ever lag at merchant I don't get irritated and hit the "Sell" button 5 or 6 times. Totally owned myself.

Wow that's extreme. Although I sold my 14^50 req 8 brute sword due to lag many months ago. Bought another back at 85k...
Now I use Gwen's flute and cape to protect my merchandise from lag spikes

While I don't have a case like this, one of my friends lost his Fissure set to merchant lag... that was rough :/
No 'disasters' here, though lag has certainly messed things up before. Freezing in HA = ftl.

Not like your story where you "boom" lag out and in 30 seconds they rolled back the databases housing data for a million accounts.
|
are you the biggest noob in the world or did you forget to take your deet da dee pills? 1- i never said i logged back in within 30 secs and boom my chit was gone. it actually was quit a bit before i could log back in. and 2 they rolled it back what 1-3 hrs or something like that? i wasn t even aware of the glitch with the traders thats what makes it prety bad for me.
next time try not to read into someone post when you clearlly could not read it to begin with. i stated it was missing because of the rollback for one. and for two try and find were i mention 30 second!

Repeatedly 'rubber banding' with lag back onto the same staircase, as a flag runner in GvG. Eventually gave the opponents a Morale Boost before I could get out.

uhum... i already posted my "disaster" on the first post of the thread...anyways...
zomg rofl!!
I had this kinda rubber-band lag soooooo many times doing Tombs (HoH). Once I was playing with balanced team and gosh... on the 5th stage or w/e it was, I was rubber-banding with the ghost trying to get to the damn top the hill. I must've done it like 20 times... When I was out of it I was on the other end of the arena (the other team's starting place)
We're on TS and omg I swear my friends we're laughing so hard.. I was shouting my lungs off like I was saying "OMFG!! GUYS IM LAGGING!!! NOESS!!!"... our 2 monks was all over the place healing me and the party. Lucky we went against apparently minion factory newbies and quickly took care of it. Oh gosh I was lucky b/c i didn't get err=7'd. Well we did make it to the Courtyard but lost there. Funny stuff but *a bit scary*... not quite a disaster
carry on guys.

whats weird is I don't lag or drop in prophecies but the moment I move over to the Factions area then I lag almost every 15mins. you could set a watch by it. And its usually just me that freezes. I'll come back to "life" and find the battle is over or I'm almost dead and my team already is.

Last night beat the Raisu Palace mission and lagged out loading the
Imp. San. after trying with 4 different pugs, *sigh*....and now have to
re-do again.
Also had Togo and Menhlo get stuck on Vizunah sq. when running to
second big fight and missed 3 swords by 15secs.
I hope the lag gets fixed someday.......

Well, this might have been a lag spike, but I hadn't noticed any lag effects at all. And it wasn't a disaster, just a very strange event.
In Druzach Thicket at a point on a line 2/3 the way from Sant Anjelica's Shrine to The Eternal Grove, there were three Mantoids in a river, two Stormcallers and one hunter. No boss. Nothing else in the area. I decided to shoot them from above, few blasts of barrage would take out the Stormcallers and the hunter would by then be about hitting my pet and the warriors.
I opened fire. And instantly three members of the party were dead, and the rest of us had maybe 20% to 50% hit points. Less than a second later the rest of the party instantly died, all of us who had survived the first blast. I was running 4% plus, and henchies did not have heavy DP.
I can only assume this was lag related. Even though I had not noticed any lag effects while questing in the Thicket.

doing the new Tombs of Primeval Kings, 3 times in a row lagged out when fighting the last bosses
not that big of a deal now that the tombs items are worth nothing, but still frustrating

Was doing the Arborstone Mission the otehr day and a Gothic Sword Dropped for me. Req. 8... I was like SWEET!! - When I headed over to it, my screen locked up completely. Luckily about after 30 secs. I didn't get DC though and I was abel to get my sword b4 the rest of the team went ahead and finished the mission, was close!!
but I have lagged hard and gotten DC'd in Tombs and Deep.. so yeah, those are the worst for me.
